Sous Chef
Full Time 30 Hours – Fully Flexible – Including Weekends
British Garden Centres is a well-known large UK retailer known for its high-quality customer service, plants, and restaurants. As a growing family business, we are driven to have the best quality customer service in our Garden Centres and Restaurants.
We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our Restaurant team you must be resilient in order to work there.
You should also be quick thinking, self-driven, and motivated to be able handle the dynamic nature of kitchen activities. Sous Chef will be working closely with the Chef to prepare meals for our customers.
The goal is to help preserve and enhance our reputation so we can expand our clientele.

Skills needed:
In-depth knowledge of the kitchen’s routines and utensils
Ability to grasp and follow the Head Chef’s culinary instructions
Knowledge of food preparation methods and presentation
Knowledge of how to maintain and care for culinary utensils
Diplomatic and conflict resolution skills
Ability to work under pressure through rapid deadlines
Knowledge of HACCP.
Able to manage multiple orders.
Professionalism and reliability.
Remain calm under pressure.
Good time management.t
Level 2 basic food hygiene is an advantage.
Duties include:
The taking of deliveries.
Food preparation.
Producing specials.
Prepare, cook, and present food quickly and efficiently to a high standard.
Food safety and hygiene to be followed.
Monitor portion size and waste.
