Christmas Christmas

A closer look at Fern Christmas Trees and Baubles

From deciding on the size, style, and needle type of your tree, to settling on the right colour palette for your decorations, there’s a lot to think about when it comes to decorating your tree. Thankfully, we’re here to guide you through the process. This guide will explain the key differences across our Fern Christmas tree range, as well as help you settle on the perfect theme for your decorations.

Perfect pine or spectacular spruce?

Designed to mimic a variety of real-world trees, our Fern Christmas tree collection includes a range of different types of tree.

Not sure which one is right for you? Here’s a look at the characteristics of each ‘species’ of tree in our Fern Christmas range.

Pine Trees

Pine trees have slightly more space between their branches than other trees. Our Fern Christmas pines have a natural, unfussy look, and their wider branch spacing provides more room for lights and decorations. Perfect for those who prefer a more rustic look or like to go to town with their decorating!

Fir Trees

Fir trees have dense foliage and that classic, Christmas tree ‘cone’ shape. Their needles are straight and flat. A Fern Christmas Fir is ideal if you want your tree to have the quintessential Christmas look.

Spruce Trees

Spruce trees share the typical cone shape of the Fir, but with slightly more natural branches. Their needles are curved and pointed. Our Fern Christmas Spruce trees are made for those who want a highly lifelike tree that’s full of character.

Understanding needle type

Christmas tree branches can be split into two main types: ‘traditional’ and ‘realistic’.

‘Traditional’ Christmas tree branches are made from Polyvinyl Chloride, or PVC, and are the trees we think of from our childhood. They’re affordable, bushy, and look great from a distance.

Looking for classic Christmas charm on a budget? Here’s some of our PVC trees:

‘Realistic’ Christmas tree branches are made from Polyethylene, or PE, and are remarkably lifelike.

They are 3D moulded using actual tree branches for a stunningly true-to-life branch that even feels like the real thing!

One of the best ways to do this is to pick a Christmas Decorating Theme.
